Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of class is this?
This is a live, interactive Tanjore painting class conducted on Zoom. Our guru teaches each session in real time, and every class is recorded and shared with you.
I am a complete beginner. Can I join?
Yes, absolutely. The class is designed to take you from scratch. Our gurus have 35+ years of experience and have taught 3,000+ students, guiding you step by step — no prior experience needed.
I already know some Tanjore painting. Is this class still worth it?
Yes. Our gurus teach professional techniques and material choices refined over decades, so even experienced painters pick up refinements they had not seen before.
What if I miss a class?
Every session is recorded and shared with you. You will have access to the recordings for up to one month after the course ends, so you can catch up or revise anytime.
Are the materials included?
The class fee covers your live instruction. The Essentials Materials Kit — canvas, 24-karat gold sheets, Arabic gum, brushes, Kundan stones, and Swarovski crystals — is available separately and shipped to your doorstep via FedEx before the course begins.
Can I use my own materials?
You can, but we strongly recommend our kit. The quality of materials directly affects the final result, and our kit contains the same professional-grade supplies we use for our own paintings.
What equipment do I need?
A laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection and Zoom installed. Our guru teaches with 3 cameras and 2 monitors so you can see every technique up close.
Can I join from outside India?
Yes — students join us from around the world. Let us know your city when you enrol so we can confirm the class timings work for your timezone and arrange your materials shipping.
How long is the course and what is the schedule?
The course runs over several weeks with two sessions per week. The exact start date, days, and timings are listed on the course page. Most students complete their painting within the course.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes — you receive a Tanjore Collective certificate on completing the course.
Will I be able to paint on my own afterwards?
Yes. The course takes you through every step from canvas preparation to the final finishing touches, so you can create Tanjore paintings independently afterwards.
What is your refund policy?
