A Journey Shaped by Curiosity
Vibha mam and Spurthy mam teach the course very patiently by clarifying every single doubt. I really enjoyed a lot while working on this painting. We can feel the spiritual peace in every stage of painting. I would 200% recommend this course you would learn a lot, just trust Tanjore Collective blindly ♥️and go on....what are you waiting for ..
The course was well-structured, with clear step-by-step guidance. The instructors (Vibha, Spurthy, Yashashwini) were very knowledgeable and patient, making sure each participant understood the nuances of traditional Tanjore painting techniques. The focus on creating "Shiva Pariwar," which features Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartikeya, was particularly interesting. 2. Materials: The course provided high-quality materials including the canvas, paint, gold foil, and gemstones. These are essential to the authenticity of Tanjore painting, and I was impressed by the premium quality of the tools provided. The gold foil application, which is a hallmark of Tanjore art, was thoroughly explained, and we were given plenty of practice before applying it to our main artwork. 3. Techniques Taught: The course covered several key Tanjore painting techniques, including: Preparing the base with gesso Drawing and outlining the figures with precision Applying the gold foil to create highlights and a sense of divine glow Adding intricate detailing using traditional brushes We also learned how to represent them "Shiva Pariwar" artistically with special attention to the divine attributes of Lord Shiva, his consort Parvati, and their children Ganesha and Kartikeya. 4. Overall Experience: The course was hands-on and allowed for individual creativity, while still adhering to the traditional Tanjore style. It was a great mix of learning the artistic methods and gaining insight into the cultural and religious symbolism of the painting. The teachers Vibha. Spurthy and Yashashwini were approachable and provided feedback that helped refine our skills throughout the course. 5. Final Outcome: At the end of the course, I was able to complete my own Shiva Pariwar painting, which I am proud to display. It was amazing to see how much I had learned, from the initial sketching to the final touches with gold leaf and gemstones. Conclusion: I highly recommend this Tanjore painting course to anyone interested in learning traditional Indian art. Whether you're a beginner or someone with some experience in painting, this course offers a comprehensive guide to creating beautiful, intricate works like the Shiva Pariwar painting. It’s a spiritually uplifting and creatively fulfilling experience.
Thanks to Ms. Vibha and Ms. Spurthy for teaching the intricacies and nuances of Tanjore art thru' online in a very professional way. Excellent syllabus...very neat sessions. Memorable moments. Thank you 🙏
I recently did the Gaja Lakshmi online course and the overall experience was excellent. Spurthy walked us through each step with a lot of patience and most importantly encouragement. Everyone’s work and efforts were appreciated every step of the way and Vibha and team made us feel that we all could achieve wonderful results. I could not attend some of the classes due to timing, but the recordings were very helpful in following through and finishing up the sections covered. The group of people in the course also were fantastic, encouraging each other and appreciating each others work. I look forward to doing my next painting with Tanjore Collective soon.
"I can't express how grateful I am for this online painting class. It's been an incredibly enriching experience. Vibha and Spurthy’s guidance is top-notch, and the virtual environment feels just as engaging as an in-person class. The flexibility of online learning combined with the depth of knowledge shared has made this class truly outstanding. I've seen a significant improvement in my skills and creativity, and I can't wait to take more classes. Highly recommended!"
