Rakshitha enrolled in the studio course, guided in person by a team of four teachers, over two sessions a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Right from the start, the classes felt like more than just an art lesson to her.

Following the Traditional Process, Step by Step
Like every student at Tanjore Collective, Rakshitha learned the art form the traditional way — building her painting layer by layer over the 6.5-week course, on her 12" x 15" canvas.
"The journey of creating the artwork was fascinating from start to finish. We began by placing the stones for the border, followed by the gesso work, then the intricate gold foiling, and finally the most exciting stage — the painting itself."
She found that each stage brought its own sense of anticipation, building up to the moment the painting truly came alive.
"Watching the colors bring the artwork to life was a magical experience. The painting stage added soul and character to the piece, transforming it into a beautiful work of art that can be cherished for a lifetime."
