Learning Tanjore painting became a quiet, self-paced practice for Jenny, bringing clarity, calm, and vibrancy to her home.
Jenny's introduction to Tanjore painting was a personal and reflective one. Choosing to learn through a DIY Video Tanjore Painting Course, she stepped into this traditional art form at her own pace, allowing the process to unfold gradually and mindfully.
This was Jenny’s first experience with Tanjore art, and over the course of two months, she completed a beautiful Goddess Lakshmi painting, discovering both technical skill and inner calm along the way.
Beginning with Curiosity and Commitment
As a first-time learner, Jenny appreciated that the course was designed to guide students from the very beginning. The structured video lessons allowed her to revisit each step whenever needed, making the learning experience both flexible and reassuring.

Learning the Process Step by Step
Jenny began by understanding the materials and preparation methods essential to Tanjore painting. Preparing arabic gum and learning how the artwork is built layer by layer gave her a strong foundation before moving on to the more detailed stages.

Exploring Embossing and Gold Work
Embossing was a new experience for Jenny and required patience and precision. Carefully building the raised designs taught her to trust the process and take her time.

Painting as a Meditative Experience
The painting stage became a deeply calming part of Jenny’s journey. Adding colours and refining details allowed her to bring Goddess Lakshmi to life, while also creating moments of stillness and reflection.
