Yet, what unfolded over the next few weeks became a deeply rewarding and memorable experience—one filled with learning, encouragement, and artistic growth.
Starting Her First Traditional Art Experience
Raksha joined the 6.5-week studio course at the Tanjore Collective studio in Basavanagudi, Bangalore. The course was structured to guide students through every step of the painting, making it approachable even for first-time learners.

From the very first session, the focus was on building a strong foundation—understanding materials, the painting surface, and how a Tanjore painting evolves stage by stage.

Having homework between sessions also helped her practice consistently and refine her skills as the course progressed.

By the end of 6.5 weeks, Raksha completed her Saraswati Devi Tanjore painting—a piece that reflected not only traditional technique but also her personal growth as a learner.
