For Sunil, learning Tanjore painting was a journey of discovery, one that began with wanting to learn the art and ended with a newfound love for it.
He joined Tanjore Collective’s DIY Tanjore painting course, choosing to learn through the step-by-step lessons while working on his painting in his own time. As he progressed, he found himself going beyond simply following the process and becoming more curious about the traditional techniques and finer details of Tanjore painting.

Learning Beyond the Basics
As Sunil worked through his painting, he gradually became familiar with the different techniques that come together to create a Tanjore artwork.
For him, the experience was not just about learning how to complete a painting. It was about understanding the process and paying attention to the details that make the art form what it is.
